Case Study

Practice Plus Group

After being awarded two new contracts, Practice Plus Group approached us to create a remote workforce of 111 Clinical Advisors, starting in May 2022. Thanks to our extensive experience in recruiting for the NHS 111 service and our vast database of clinicians, we were well-positioned to undertake the task. We utilised targeted advertising and marketing to reach the desired audience, resulting in the onboarding of 100 highly experienced clinicians over the next six months.

“We chose mrp to work with as they have a very different approach to other agencies we have worked with, mrp operate with full transparency and honesty, there is no “sales pitch”, where other agencies may promise the world and deliver far from it.”

Building a remote workforce of 111 clinical advisors

We were perfectly placed to undertake the task of recruiting highly experienced clinicians, ensuring they were compliant to the required level, and onboarding them smoothly and efficiently. The mrp team utilised its large database of clinicians, targeted advertising/marketing, and 10 years of experience recruiting for the NHS 111 service.

Success and future partnerships

The success of the initial project led to Practice Plus Group requesting mrp's services again. Our booking team continued to work closely with the Practice Plus Group team, booking over 1500 hours per week at peak. The team ensured that all compliance requirements were covered and also managed short-notice bookings through mrp’s OOH team.

“Practice Plus Group are the UK’s largest independent provider of NHS services, playing a key part in ensuring free and fair access to healthcare for everyone.  Practice Plus Group have worked with mrp for a number of years, in January 2022 we were awarded two 111 contracts which increased our clinical staffing requirements by some 40%.  Although we use multiple agencies to provide clinical staffing in addition to our own resources, we knew we needed to do something differently to address the challenge. We chose mrp to work with to build a large cohort of one hundred additional clinical advisors for our 111 services.

We chose mrp to work with as they have a very different approach to other agencies we have worked with, mrp operate with full transparency and honesty, there is no “sales pitch”, where other agencies may promise the world and deliver far from it, mrp gave us a realistic expectation of where we felt they could get to and by when; and then delivered and exceeded upon those promises.  The onboarding process with clinicians was outstanding, normally we experience a fair delay in onboarding through compliance checks, with mrp we were quick to get all required documents through and the only delays were our internal capacity to induct.  Within a few months we had inducted all one hundred and saw a significant improvement of our clinical performance as a direct result of working with mrp.

mrp’s communication is excellent, they have a genuine and professional approach without feeling corporate.  We enjoy working with mrp as we recognise that they communicate similarly with the clinical staff that they provide us with, and we know from speaking to the clinicians, that they feel mrp are a preferred agency to work for, as we find to work with.”
